Meetings are the second Sunday of every month with a few exceptions. A potluck lunch starts at 1 p.m. and the meeting starts immediately after.

Upcoming Meetings:
February 8, 2026 - Cancelled!
I'm sorry to say we will have to cancel our February meeting which was scheduled for this coming Sunday the 8th. Our hosts at Carl Sandburg Home were unable to accommodate us due to the recent weather and the conditions of the roads on the property. We were not able to find a better meeting location so made the difficult choice to cancel. There is no scheduled meeting for March because we will likely all be elbow deep into kidding season.
March 8, 2026 - No meeting due to crazy kidding schedules
April 11, 2026 - We will be hosting an LA Clinic at the Rutherford Livestock Extension Facility at 310 Big Island Road, Forest City, NC. This is the same location that we run the buck collection so a perfect facility for this! The clinic will be given by our very own Cullen Owen and Melanie Fergason. I can't think of any two people better suited to explain the details of linear appraisal and be able to show us what they look for, how they score and do it in a way we can all understand. There will be an in-class presentation and time outside looking over goats with hands-on opportunities. Watch for posts and emails to find out more information and know how to sign up to participate. Sign ups will be open soon!

4 rings of senior does and 4 rings of junior does, showmanship, an embedded youth show and more! Judges are being confirmed and additional plans are in the works!
